GREENFIELD , NH — The Society for Cognitive Rehabilitation will hold its 15th national conference at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield, New Hampshire September 12 to 13. This is the first time Crotched Mountain has hosted the annual event.
The Society for Cognitive Rehabilitation is an international association of professionals providing cognitive rehabilitation for those with brain injuries and other neurological issues.
The theme of the conference is "Cognitive Rehabilitation Across the Spectrum." Presentations are geared toward occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers, psychologists, neuropsychologists, educators and others.
Topics will include inpatient cognitive rehabilitation, approaches to joint therapy and effective cognitive rehabilitation treatment. Speakers include David Hajjar, MS, CCC-SLP; Sydney Danziger, MS, CCC-SLP, CPCRT, Lane Sidebottom, MS, PT, CPCRT; and Rick Parente, Ph.D., CPCRT.
"Cognitive rehabilitation is an essential part of the rehabilitation process. It works effectively when an interdisciplinary approach is provided," says conference chair Rhonda Barkley, an occupational therapist with Crotched Mountain. "Understanding the service delivery models our presenters will outline will benefit all professionals involved, no matter what their specialty, in the rehabilitation process."

About the Society for Cognitive Rehabilitation The Society for Cognitive Rehabilitation, Inc., was incorporated in 1989 to formalize an international network for Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapists and others interested in the provision of cognitive rehabilitation services to survivors of brain injury and other neurological insults. SCR has aided in defining CRT as a distinct service that can be provided by many different professional disciplines, but standards for training and experiences have been established that pertains to all professionals involved.
